Planning Center is a tool we are using to help make coordinating volunteers easier. We realize this is a major shift from what we have done before, and we want to walk with everyone in this journey. This page has a basic overview of Planning Center. For any other help, questions, or concerns, you may check out the Planning Center Help website, or feel free to talk to Dawnelle or Caleb.

A Quick Video Introduction to Planning Center

  1. Responding to Scheduling Requests

    pco email
You will receive requests to serve by email. When you receive this email, please quickly respond by pressing "Accept" or "Decline". You will not need to login. It is OK to decline, just please respond by accepting or declining within 0-3 days of receiving your request so we know if you are available or if we need to find other volunteers.

  2. Viewing When You Are Scheduled

Go to and login with your email and password. If you have forgotten your password, press the "Need a password?" link. Once you have logged in, you will see the following page.

Under "My Schedule", you can view all the times you are scheduled to serve. This also shows when you have been requested to serve, but haven't responded. Please make sure you press accept or decline within a day or two of seeing the requests.

  3. Blocking Out Dates You Are Away

    pco dashboard blockout

Once you have logged in, on the left side of the page is the button, "blockout dates". Use this button to let us know when you are going to be away or unable to volunteer.

After pressing the button, in the page that appears, simply click on the days you don't want to volunteer. They will turn red and you can specify why you are unavailable on the right. Once done, simply press "Save # Blockouts".

Please blockout dates even if you aren't scheduled for that time so that if someone else declines, we won't try and schedule you.

Planning Center Help

Engage webWe believe God is calling us to bless the people of Langley and invite them into a relationship with Jesus.

We are a Caring Community where we strive to work together. It's a place where we find Hope and Purpose as we follow Jesus Christ. At South Langley Church we are convinced that life is filled with possibility, mystery and meaning. Allowing God to reawaken within us the curiosity to explore and discover Him brings hope into our lives.

We believe that Jesus is God's gift to us that allows our hearts to respond to this wonder. You are invited to explore our website and to join us on a life-changing journey of knowing and following Jesus.

Our History

In 1948 a small group of young people from East Aldergrove decided to hold Sunday School classes in the Brookswood area. Using the Brookswood Community Hall they held classes every Sunday afternoon. The classes were well received, the children came and attendance grew.

In 1958 the East Aldergrove MB Church youth group started a fund to raise money for a permanent Brookswood Church building.

They purchased an acre of land on 36th Avenue in 1959 and services began officially on November 22, 1964 with 17 charter members.

After many happy years in this building the congregation moved, in 1977, to it's current location on 22nd Avenue in Fernridge.

The building served the church family well until 2008 when discussions began on the growing needs of the congregation & the aging building. It was decided that major renovations needed to be done to the worship centre and administration wing. Phase I was completed in early 2011. Phase II was started shortly after that and was completed in April 2012. On November 22, 2014 we celebrated 50 years of God's goodness.

We are grateful to God for His faithfulness in the past and we are excited for what God has in store for us in the days to come.

"We always thank God for all of you... We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ."     1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
