When you talk with people, it doesn’t take long to hear stories of hurt and brokenness. The Apostle Paul describes human beings as being “like fragile clay jars” (2 Cor 4:7, NLT). Yet though we’re fragile and broken, there is a beauty that shines through this brokenness. The cracks that appear in our fragile lives are the places where the light of Jesus can shine through. You may be broken, but you are also beautiful.  And the church should be a safe place to talk about our brokenness.

For the third year in a row, we’ve set aside January for this purpose. This year we will tackle the topics of pornography and domestic abuse. Join us as we acknowledge our brokenness, and learn about the beauty that Jesus can bring out of it.

NOTE TO PARENTS: This January, our Broken and Beautiful series will tackle the topics of pornography (Jan 7 & 14) and domestic abuse (Jan 21 & 28). The sermons will not be explicit, but these are mature topics. Sarah will make alternative arrangements for Grade 6 students. Students, Grade 7 and above, are encouraged to hear the sermons, but we advise parents to use their discretion.

If you'd like more information on these issues please download our free resource RESPONDING TO PORNOGRAPHY.
